gridBox

Energy's most advanced gateway

The gridBox is the gateway to XENON. Installed on site, it connects to DERs, manages energy in real time and reports data to XENON.

Setup

Three steps. Less than 10 minutes.

Setup is completed in less than 10 minutes and is so simple, no technical support is required.

1. Connect the gridBox to a power outlet.

2. Connect the gridBox to the internet via an ethernet cable.

3. The setup wizard is started and scans the network for DERs.

Over-the-air updates

Stay up to date.

The gridBox supports over-the-air updates so every device always runs the latest software.

Offline functionality

Robust to network outages

The gridBox guarantees up to 10 days of offline functionality without any data losses.

Applications running on the edge

Aggregate
Collect and preprocess data on the edge to reduce latency, limit bandwidth usage and comply with privacy constraints.
Controlling
Issue instructions to DERs. Charge batteries. Prioritize charging stations.
EMS
Run a complete EMS on the edge. Benefit from the quickest response times. Ensure robustness to network outages.
Filter
Filter data directly on the gridBox to reduce loads on the server side.
Load balancing
Run dynamic load management locally.
Monitoring
Collect data from DERs locally. Up to every 200ms. Process the data directly on the edge or send it to the cloud.
