Klarsolar, a provider of comprehensive renewable energy solutions founded in 2018, was established to make photovoltaic (PV) systems, wallboxes and battery storage systems easy and affordable for German households. The company, which has been part of E.ON since the end of 2023, combines state-of-the-art technology with specialist expertise to provide efficient and sustainable energy solutions for private individuals.
As an established, medium-sized system provider, Klarsolar's core focus is on consulting, planning and installing comprehensive renewable energy setups for private households. In the past, the company has already attached great importance to the intelligent linking of all existing systems in the household. Particular attention was always paid to the home charging options for its customers, which is why wallboxes and charging processes should be integrated into the home energy setup in the best possible way and also supplied with self-generated solar power. On this basis, Klarsolar quickly recognized the importance of smart energy management at the household level in order to get the best possible results from a household's installed energy systems. A home energy management system (HEMS) solution was therefore to be added to the range. Particularly important: customers should receive a seamless and integrated energy management solution from a single source that not only complements the existing portfolio, but also meets the growing demands of the market.
gridX proved to be the ideal partner for Klarsolar due to the unique flexibility and robustness of its technology. The modular platform can be easily adapted to different use cases, as in the case of Klarsolar. The Energy Optimizer module can be used to optimize all energy flows in households. It ensures that the self-generated electricity produced by the PV rooftop modules is used to the maximum – either through direct consumption or storage for phases without solar power in a battery storage system. If a heat pump is installed on site, it can also be operated as sustainably as possible, as the system can also supply it with local green electricity. The Web App and Mobile App modules give Klarsolar customers maximum transparency about how and where energy is produced or used. Individual settings can also be made, including, for example, the preferred charging strategy for the electric car. The hybrid setup of the gridX technology, consisting of cloud software based around the XENON platform and the IoT gateway installed on site, offers exceptional resilience. Internet outages are not a concern, as the optimization of the energy systems can run for up to several hours even without a connection to XENON. All data is backed up and later synchronized with the cloud. In addition, the gridX solution offers Klarsolar great scalability, which fits in perfectly with the company's mission to make a major contribution to the energy transition.
Thanks to the cooperation with gridX, Klarsolar has made impressive progress in a short space of time: the project, which started in 2023, has achieved a stable rollout rate for the HEMS solutions in just 5 months. By September 2024, several thousand households had already been equipped with the Klarsolar HERO energy manager, enabling them to get the most out of their home energy systems. Together, Klarsolar and gridX can empower private individuals to become environmental heroes and make their contribution to the energy transition. A central aspect of this is achieving the highest possible benefit from their own solar power, which is ensured by the smart HEMS.
IBC Solar wanted to offer end users holistic, customer-centric energy solutions. They chose our XENON platform to build their new home energy management system, efa:home.
By using XENON as a local energy management system, Fastned is able to avoid grid overloads, reduce both upfront and ongoing costs and serve even more electric drivers.
